docs.cray.com has a new interface!
2009-08-18In an effort to modernize and improve the usability of our documentation delivery system, docs.cray.com has had a redesign. There are some long-standing issues with the old site that needed to be addressed, and some new improvements and functions that we’re throwing into the mix to ultimately make our customer experience better.
Improvements
- No more “site within a site”: The new design has its own global navigation and a fresh look with plenty of white space to be easy on the eyes.
- “Site Maps” are now called “Platform-based Documentation”: The new designation is more accurate and descriptive.
- We’ve elimated several redundancies: Newly produced HTML books only have one table of contents, and there is only one “Home” link on the interface.
- Streamlined experience: The most common features are easier to find, the obsolete functions are taken out. The result is a clean, less-cluttered interface that is easy on the eyes.
- Instant release announcements: Users can follow us on Twitter for the most up-to-date news from the docs team on what releases are out and when.
